“In 2011, I came with my family to Kapiri Mposhi of the Central Province of Zambia having sensed a call to plant a Reformed Baptist Church in that place. Even though I knew that God had called me there, my heart was filled with anxiety not knowing what to expect, since there was no contact person on the ground. When we got on the ground, straight away, we found a place of worship and began inviting people for worship.
For some number of years, the ground proved hard and very discouraging, because the response from the community was poor. In many cases, people would promise to attend our church, yet would not honor their word. Three years past without witnessing meaningful results, meanwhile, I was talking with my wife about the lack of progress in the work. These feelings kept troubling my mind mostly because the Church where I had come from measured success and progress by reporting numbers of souls saved every month. Therefore, in my mind, I was worried, thinking that, perhaps, we had failed and the sending church (KBC) will not take us serious here.
We want to say a word of thank you to the elders and Kabwata Baptist church members for your love, care, and patience that you have shown. We also would like to appreciate with everlasting gratitude the generosity of our beloved supporting partners; Jefferson Park Baptist Church and its elders, more especially those teams you send led by brother Ben Bullard, who comes to encourage us almost every year, risking their very lives just for us.
May our God continue to keep you safely and prosper you as you labor with us on this hard ground. And finally, thank you, brother Andrew Alsop, thanks go to all of you got involved with us in this work for your love and sacrifice. Thank you, my dear family, for always persevering with me. By God’s grace, we can lean on you trusting that you will not quickly desert us. Indeed, you have been our God sent messengers ministering to us in every need. Wishing you Merry Christmas and God blessing in 2020.”
